Free interactive concert of jazzy songs for kids

MasterWorks Chorale presents jazz-inspired Gala
MasterWorks Chorale’s annual Spring Gala, on Sunday, May 20, at the Springside Inn in Auburn, will celebrate the golden age of song, when lyrics told a story, melodies were unforgettable, harmonies were lush, and swing was king! The 50-voice choir, 3-piece rhythm section, and selected soloists will perform jazz standards from Gershwin to Ellington, Berlin to an original bossa nova. Along with the musical show, the evening will include a silent auction, raffles, drinks, appetizers and three-course dinner. MEDIA RELEASE April 26, 2018.

60 Voices Join with Keyboardist, Orchestra

As the end of winter approaches, MasterWorks Chorale will present “Song and Spirit,” a concert program celebrating the season of renewal, in Onondaga and Cayuga Counties. The Sunday, March 11, performance at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Syracuse will be accompanied by keyboardist Fred Willard. On the following Sunday, March 18, at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn, a 24-piece chamber orchestra of professional musicians will accompany the 60-voice choir. MEDIA RELEASE February 22, 2018.

Chamber Singers perform at Marcellus Free Library
There’s no need to “ssshhh” when the MasterWorks Chorale Chamber Singers lift their voices in the Marcellus Library! The 16-voice a cappella ensemble will present a FREE one-hour concert on Sunday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. MEDIA RELEASE February 14, 2018. 

Open rehearsals in January
MasterWorks Chorale will sing in the New Year by welcoming new members. Singers of all abilities and experience, high school age or older, are invited to attend two open rehearsals. No formal audition is necessary. Members need only have a desire to learn and perform great choral music. MEDIA RELEASE December 20, 2017.

MasterWorks Chorale Presents Annual Holiday Concert
Christmas music is as colorful, varied and traditional as the trees we decorate for the holidays, and just as treasured! The 2017 Christmas concert by MasterWorks Chorale celebrates this festive musical spectrum on Sunday, December 17,  at First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles. MEDIA RELEASE November 27, 2017.

Chamber Singers perform at Willard Chapel
The landmark Tiffany-designed Willard Memorial Chapel in Auburn provides a gorgeous setting for a program of a cappella choral music on Sunday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m.  by the 16-voice Chamber Singers ensemble. The Chorale’s music director, Kip Coerper, ChM, conducts the concert, benefiting the Community Preservation Committee’s care of Willard Chapel. MEDIA RELEASE November 15, 2017.

Audience welcome to join in singing "Hallelujah!" chorus
MasterWorks Chorale’s annual performance of this renowned oratorio has become a favorite tradition, heralding the holiday season. This year’s concert takes place Sunday, November 12, 4:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn. Following an almost 300-year tradition, the entire audience will be invited to stand – and sing along! – on the grand "Hallelujah" chorus. MEDIA RELEASE October 25, 2017.

Open rehearsals in September
New singers are invited to attend open rehearsals of MasterWorks Chorale on Tuesdays evenings, September 5 and September 12 in Skaneateles. Attendance is free; annual dues are payable only to singers who decide to join the choir for the 2017–18 season. MEDIA RELEASE August 16, 2017.

Annual Gala features award-winning songs
Get your glam on and take a musical trip to the Academy Awards with MasterWorks Chorale! The choir’s Annual Spring Gala, on May 21 at the Springside Inn in Auburn, will feel like a night at the Oscars, complete with a red carpet and award-winning songs from hit movies. Choir and chamber orchestra to perform March 19, 2017
Nearing the end of a dark, cloudy winter, Central New York moods are yearning to lift and brighten. “Songs of Light and Joy,” a concert of choir and chamber orchestra on Sunday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn, will bring the audience a "daylight saving" for the heart, with a program reflecting those intertwined themes. "Singing together has the power to lift spirits and transform lives," says MasterWorks Chorale director Kip Coerper, ChM, especially when sharing "the joy of group singing in a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere.” Singers of all ages, abilities and experience are welcome to sit in with the 60-member choir at two open rehearsals in January, and consider becoming a member through the remainder of the SeptemberMay season. No formal audition is necessary; members need only have a desire to learn and perform great choral music. THE MANY MOODS OF CHRISTMAS presents the magic of holiday spirit in song
We love Christmas musicunless we’re Scrooge or the Grinch! Whether we catch ourselves humming along in glittering store aisles, or tune in to holiday classics on TV at home, our favorite songs of the season vary as much as our traditions themselves. Celebrating the magic of holiday music, MasterWorks Chorale presents The Many Moods of Christmas on Sunday, December 18, at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles. From Mozart and Handel to Morten Lauridsen’s spellbinding Lux Aeterna, from cherished carols to Craig Courtney’s witty Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas, the Chorale will perform sparkling arrangements of sacred and secular Christmas music. MESSIAH SING!  Annual concert brings the audience a chance to join in the singing
Everyone loves the “Hallelujah” chorus from Handel’s Messiah! MasterWorks Chorale's annual sing-along performance of this beloved oratorio has become a favorite tradition, heralding the holiday season. This year’s concert on Sunday, November 13, 4:00 p.m., at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Skaneateles, will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra of Central New York’s leading professional musicians. Audience members familiar with the music are invited to sing along with the famous choruses from the Christmas portion of Messiah — and can even rehearse in advance with the choir and sing on stage. MEDIA RELEASE October 27, 2016.

CALLING ALL KIDS!  Broadway Mini-Concert Free for Kids
MasterWorks Chorale will present a Broadway mini-concert — free for children — on Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles. Conducted by music director Kip Coerper, ChM, the 50-voice choir and soloists will perform kid-friendly, interactive Broadway favorites, including “One Short Day” from the mega-hit show Wicked. The 30-minute concert, held in the church’s Dobson Hall, is FREE for kids age 18 and under; children must be accompanied by an adult at $5 each. MEDIA RELEASE April 19, 2016. 

50th Anniversary Season Grand Finale: Tribute to Broadway
The 50th Anniversary Season of MasterWorks Chorale concludes with the Annual Spring Gala on May 15 at the Springside Inn in Auburn, highlighting "50 Years of Broadway" with hits from the past five decades of musical theater. MEDIA RELEASE April 14, 2016.

A Glorious Christmas
Since 1965, MasterWorks Chorale has established a beloved tradition of presenting Christmas choral concerts to our community.  This year's 50th anniversary Christmas concert ranges from classics of the Renaissance and Baroque eras to contemporary inspirational works and traditional sing-along carols for the audience to join in on.  MEDIA RELEASE November 30, 2015.
