Fresh voices welcome!

Interested in singing with MasterWorks Chorale? If you are high school age or older, we invite you to give us a try, free of charge, at our first two rehearsals in September and January, from 7:00 to 9:15 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles [map].

At our open rehearsals, singers of all abilities and experience are welcome to sit in with our 60-member choir and consider becoming a member, either for the full September–May season or January–May.

Formal auditions aren’t required; just meet with our director about your vocal range for best placement. Some rehearsals include mini-tutorials on music reading, vocal skills, or choral singing, to help everyone perform at their best.

We rehearse from September to December, and from January to May. Weekly rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. in Dobson Hall (upstairs) at First Presbyterian Church, 97 East Genesee Street, Skaneateles. [map]. A Saturday morning rehearsal precedes some concerts.

Concerts by the full choir are presented  in November, December, March and May. Additional events feature the smaller Chamber Singers ensemble, a group of auditioned singers who present a cappella music.

Membership dues, set each year by the Board of Directors, help to defray our expenses for printed music, venue rentals, director and assistant director, rehearsal and concert accompanist, publicity and programs, and guest vocalists and instrumentalists. Funding assistance is available.

At our Annual Meeting in May, all members are welcome to share an evening looking back at the previous season, looking ahead to the next, voting on new directors and officers, and voting on the annual budget.
